The little things

Is it just me or are the smallest things in life sometimes what makes the difference if you have a good day or a bad day.

For instance the public restroom. I know everyone is not a fan of the dreaded germ infested bathroom. However, the smallest thing can make you feel better about it. For me it was going to the bathroom stall I always use (isn’t it strange how we form habits of that nature?) and NO ONE HAS USED IT YET THIS MORNING.  The seat was still up.  This was a small but happy win for me. I mean if you’re going to have to use a public toilet I hope to get first dibs on the toilet in the morning. I mean I do not do a$$ to seat. There is a clear nest of toilet paper but still….small win knowing that I was the first to use this toilet.  Then shortly after this win feeling happened and I finished doing what I came to the bathroom to do, a bitch turned off the light on me while I was pulling up my oversized panty hose.  (They only had size B at the store…clearly there is a big difference between size a and b.)

Also I found my favorite pen this morning…my sharpie fine point pen. LOVE IT. It glides and it wants to be used.  Shortly after I found it, it stopped working. Apparently the cap wasn’t on that tight and it dried up….So I take my wins with my losses. Either way I can still say I had small peaks of success versus a down hill spiral. Now I write this and it is only 9:45 a.m. clearly my day could turn for the worst. With my small peaks of successes I feel pretty optimistic. Today is a day I look at the glass half full and not I drank one serving size of my mocha…AHHH that’s 150 calories.

Another small win is that I am new at my job and yet today 2 people asked for advice/help. WINNER. Makes me feel like I am actually proving that this Asian does know a little something something about business.  Hopefully one day I’ll be the guru to the grocery broker business.  I mean they must think I’m smart already for the fact I am asian. Hahahha It’s one characteristic that I don’t mind people assuming that I am.  However people that think I enjoy doing laundry, nails and hang out with a mob of Asians automatically they can just step aside.  NOT ALWAYS THE CASE. I was raised by two amazing Caucasians.  Hahah Side NOTE: when I was young I thought Caucasians meant that White people who adopted Asians hahahhahahahhahahaha Yeah, so maybe I was creative and a bit of a flibbity jibbit but still had a big heart. Still do. I hope whoever reads this has a few small wins for their day and if none today, may you win BIG tomorrow. Gosh that sounded like a bad fortune cookie message.
